The Research Institute for the Integration of World Thought was officially established in December 2000 in order to encourage academic research on fundamental philosophical issues in a way that is both non-sectarian and respectful of the spiritual and intellectual traditions of the world. It is headquartered in Connecticut.

The Institute was developed with three principal thematic drivers: the role of Philosophy, Religion and History in Human and Sustainable Development. While all philosophies are studied, special attention is paid to Unification Philosophy's relation to traditional philosophy and philosophical questions.
